Default What are the popular places to go on thursday in reading?

The thread on nightlife may be outta date. As a post grad my timetable is pretty stacked but thursdays could be good as i dont have to get up til late on a friday.

So where do people go for a night out? somewhere cheapish with dancefloor is essential.

our hall did a night to risa last thursday but it was dead. Obviously this thurs it's the freshers ball so i'm looking for ideas.

The Purple Turtle is always packed full of students, and O'Neils is a good one for nightlife but no dance floor.

Reflex 80's bar is brilliant though but only picks up late in to the night.

Dogma is pretty popular on thurs, i personally hate it, but housemates love it for some reason. Also QBar on thurs is popular too

Q bar was big last year on a thurs - think it might be some sort of indie night this year? Dogma is what instantly springs to mind though.

Dogmas big and theres alot of students there but drinks are really expensive. I got charged £6 something for a double JD and coke swo next time got the house whiskey n coke which was £2.50, this tasted like vinegar. Its got a bouncy floor which is cool, but predrink if thats where your going.

Otherwise Qbar has a reallly good atmosphere with smoke machines and strobe lights etc but quite abit smaller.

Don't know what Cdash is talking about dogma having expensive drinks for A single vodka/gin/rum and mixer it £1.50, £2.50 for a double and like £2 for a jeagarbomb. Vk's are like £1.50 or £2 not sure. But tbh only go if you don't mind queing for long periods for your drinks/ to get upstairs/ for the toilets, you don't mind getting excruciatingly sweaty, and that the floor feels like it will collapse underneath you. I do like dogma thoguh I promise! Yeh stay well clear of risa imo (on any day really!) I think sakura is also starting something on thursdays now...

You guys should check out the Playground Project at the Jazz Club (by the railway line). It's a new night on thursdays with Funky House music. Costs £3 to get in (purchased in advance) or £4 on door. Has a bouncy castle too - facebook it. Was pretty awesome last couple of times I went.

Sakura is amazing on a thursday - one of it's biggest nights. It's a good club as well with 3 separate floors and a dance floor that's lit from underneath.

yep went q bar on thursday and it was pretty fun. I'm not a massive fan of alternative music in clubs but i'd had enough asda smartprice vodka to not really think about it. Will maybe check out this sakura this week hmmmm

I hang out with all the freshers, none of the postgrads I know go out. Did you go to the postgrad social in mondial a few weeks ago? It was just like a school disco.

yea i was there, really drunk tho, i probably bumped into you, literally, or spilled a drink on your shoes. I discovered jagabombs were sold and it all went wrong from there. Didn't quite have the courage to dance to that kind of music, but the internationals loved it. Lots of Food/nutrition people there though so i had fun. What'd you make of it?
