I'm quite clueless on vectors so I don't think so lol.

-6a + 6c

What next to find OP?

-6a + 6c

What next to find OP?

so if AC=-6a+6c, what is AP and PC
given that AP=2/3AC

AP = -4a + 4c
PC = -2a + 2c?

if you found AP or Pc can you see then how to find Op?

So would it be -6a + -4a + 2c? And so -2a + 2c?

to find op draw an arrow from o to p
Op=OA+AP
which 6a-4a+4c
Ok don't know if this is right, but I make it 4c + 2a
OP = 6c + CP
CP = 1/3 CA
1/3 CA = 1/3(6a - 6c) = 2a - 2c
therefore OP = 6c + CP = 6c -2c +2a = 4c +2a

Ah, now I get it :smile: Thanks a lot.

The next question is 'the midpoint of CB is M, prove that OPM is a straight line.' How would I go about this?

There are various ways of doing this, but the simplist would be to show that OP and OM are parallel, and that they have a point in common.

The last bit is obvious (O). For the first bit you will need to work out OP and OM and show that one is a scalar multiple of the other.
