hardy_4_paws - Anyone can sit the exam. If I were to estimate, I'd say probably around a B+ level to stand a chance of getting a high result... but it can also depend on the level of revision you do beforehand.
Jamie.
Thank you, I'll probably give it a go then, only other question do you know whether they count human geography and physcial geography as seperate papers? Also I had a look at the past drama papers and liked the format, it reminded me of my AS level, however I didn't carry the subject on to A2 as it is'nt very well regarded. Does this mean I cannot sit that paper?
I just read the bottom one and it was good.. not to complimentary about the lectures though! but shes an english student not a geography student :P all references to people and social life sound promising together!
hardy_4_paws - Yes, human and physical geography are counted as 2 separate papers.
In regards to sitting the drama exam, that would be up to the university... you may as well attempt to apply for it, if they were to say no, you could still choose another subject to sit.
Anyone who has made an application to Aberystwyth should now be getting emails, which include information about our own applicants group on Facebook, as well as AberInsiders blog. I'd really suggest taking a look at these blogs, as they give a great insight into university life.
wooo got an offer, 300 ucas points in 2 GCE awards including a C in geography! Need to go and visit now....
(and well done Kaimietis is it your first, second, not one of ur favourites?)
Congrats on your offer firstly.
I don't know, somehow I don't feel super excited about the offer, it is my first, that's why its kinda strange that I'm not super happy I think I might use it as my insurance, still I have to wait from some other unis to respond, the offer is not high at all, so it shouldn't be hard to get all the grades. What about you?
I'm sending in my application tomorrow, Aber is my first choice for Animal Behaviour
my AS grades weren't brilliant, as I didn't revise, i got 3 Cs, but I'm resitting two papers and am capable of much more.
Is there any point in me sitting the scholarships?
I fell in love with Aber and have my heart set on going there.
I would say there's definitely a point in sitting the scholarships if you feel you are capable of more. You've nothing to loose, and even if you don't get a full scholarship you may be offered a merit award, both of which also give you an unconditional offer. There's more information at the following link: http://www.aber.ac.uk/en/scholarships/uk/
good luck! Beccy
