3IX is the best for a starter.
http://www.3ix.org/
Very cheap and have used them for 3 years with downtime once.
http://www.3ix.org/web_hosting_uk.php
Cant go wrong for £8.50 per year to learn or £24 per year if you need unlimited bandwidth - until you get your head around web design then you won't need that to start off.
The basic Excite Package gives you enough to learn - You can create 2 MySQL databases and so on.
Im on the next package up

Re: Webmaster Resources (Compiled by TSR Members)
Are there any good UK domain registrars that aren't apart of United Internet umbrella? It seems all the popular 1and1, Fasthosts, etc all fall under it. I'd probably go with them but I'm not giving them my credit card details and certainly not signing any contractual arrangements with them via my Paypal.
I'd preferably like one that is UK based, accepts Paypal, are easy to cancel and don't try and charge me automatically after a year. I'll probably go for http://www.cobaltweb.co.uk/ as my web host as I've heard good things. -
Re: Webmaster Resources (Compiled by TSR Members)you can try http://www.eclipse.net.uk/domains(Original post by _MaLc_)

Hi,
I am looking for information about website testing tools and this thread is really great for novices like me. How about adding performance testing tools and other similar tools?
Anyway, maybe you guys have any suggestions for other easy to use tools or sites for beginner website designers?
Thanks, Suzanne -

Don't know if these have been recommended but site5.com and vidahost.com are both great companies.
