I would rather have neither and not sure how this will help prevent a 30000 feet explosion. Luckily it isn't compulsory and is only being used to save time.

So it should really be a question of would you rather someone see a monochromatic scan of your body, or spend 10 minutes extra in an airport?

If I were the security guard monitoring the system, I think the amount of 'package' jokes made by every single person going through for months on end would eventually cause me to blow up a plane myself out of annoyance.

no you can't which is good. I wouldn't be too bothered, I'd go in it and strike a pose. But I think it's fair enough if people don't want to use it and to keep it optional.

Besides, hasn't Heathrow had these full body scanners for years, shortly after 2001? They have had them for ages as I went through one when going trans-atlantic through T4.
