How important is Work Experience/Shadowing?

If you've done work experience/shadowing, how important is it?

And if you were shadowing them the whole week but actually got to do something (say, sort the medicines out into different stacks before the pharmacist put them onto the shelf), would that still be called 'shadowing' or 'work experience'?

...Anyway. In order to get onto the degree a placement is "beneficial". Your application will look better if you have some sort of shadowing or experience in pharmacy. However, you should not really be at a disadvantage if you don't because not everyone gets such experience.

However, if you want to get a decent prereg you need prior experience. I recently heard that a lot of multiples look for experience and CPD because the number of applicants has increased but the number of prereg places is decreasing.
