Just thought I'd start a thread for all the KCL EMDP applicants this year!
It's the only medicine course I'm applying for, because my AS grade were absolutely pants and my GCSEs are just average! but my A predictions are quite decent.
Let's keep each other updated on our progess with the EMDP course?
Apparently the first interviews are in early December! not too far now!
Good luck everyone. xx
EDIT: PQA is in december, interviews on 16&17 of feb x
ohhh, cool. what's the PQA test about anyway? i've heard about it, but not quite sure what it entails?
xx
The students that take sign a confidentiality form; so they cant speak about it.
I have a question regarding Kings EMDP and Sotons BM6;
I've applied to both Universities but for the 5 year MBBS course, seeing as i satisfy all the criteria for the extended medical degree programmes, will they automatically consider me for these programs? should i get rejected from the 5yr Courses?

oh God, so it's like a secret test thing? now im scared! lol

Once all applications are received via UCAS they will be assessed to ensure that they meet our eligibility criteria and then eligible applicants will be invited to a PQA test in early December.
The PQA test has been used for a number of years in selection for the EMDP, and has helped to inform the programme tutors when designing the teaching support for individual students. The PQA results, in conjunction with the other elements of the application, will then be used to select applicants to interview.
are you sure? i haven't seen this in any of the sections on the website or prospectus?
ffs'ingly frustrating if true!!
yer, unfortunately it is true
"From 2010 applicants will only be considered for the EMDP if they applied to the programme directly. If applicants wish to also be considered for the standard 5-year programme then they must apply to UCAS course code A100 as well as A101, and each application will be considered separately."

Once applicants who are eligible and meet all academic and nonacademic requirements are selected, all eligible candidates will be invited to sit the PQA test in early December.
Then based on the UCAS form, this test(PQA) and the UKCAT, people are selected for interview.
All interviews are held on the 16th and 17th February in a MMI format.
