Please check out my new song =) (NOT spam, I'm actually a TSR user) (NEW new one!)
Anyway like the title says, I'm actually a regular TSR user, I'm not just coming on here to drop a music bomb on you then run away.
Okay, so I'm amending this to just having some samples of my music. You can check out http://www.myspace.com/emilyfralick or http://www.youtube.com/thursday1016 for "official" pages, as well as lyrics, and as soon as I get my studio re-set-up I will be doing a proper EP and it will be on iTunes, Amazon's downloads etc. Summer 2010 I am actually recording an album hooray!

I wrote a new song Tuesday, recorded it yesterday, and have the finished product up now at http://www.myspace.com/emilyfralick (it's the first track in the player). Just thought some people might like to hear it and/or give me some constructive criticism. I'll go ahead and just put the YouTube vid in here though to make it easier.
Thanks for listening guys
Lyrics:
Despite the tender sunshine, (though you open your eyes best then)
You're feeling better by twilight
Because the morning begs the question
Should I walk away?
Well maybe, honey, it's your decision
And your mistake to make
Well hang tight baby, yeah your ambition
Is rash, propelled ahead of itself
No, no
Yeah, bigger things have fallen on you
So, if you're lonely sing this song
I'm here, indifferent, right, or wrong
The old phantasm goes and comes
But when it comes, it hits like a heart attack
Yeah, if you're lonely sing this song
I'm here, whatever you become,
But you're toying with a chambered gun
And when it blows, it hits like a heart attack
So here's the tender sunrise
I'll let you open your eyes, dress, then
We'll wander down to the creekside
Where the undercurrent abates the questions
Like should I walk away?
Well who cares, honey? There's no real answer
And no right course to take
Yeah calm down, survival's best left to chance or
You'll break your will just to "feel fulfilled"
No, no
Yeah you can feign it all you want for the thrill
But when you get lonely, sing this song
I'm here, indifferent, right, or wrong
The old phantasm goes and comes
But when it comes, it hits like a heart attack
Yeah, if you're lonely sing this song
I'm here, whatever you become,
The mute impact silences the gun
And finally, it hits like a heart attack
Yeah, you can feign it all you want for the thrill...
When you get lonely, sing this song
I'm here, indifferent, right, or wrong
The old phantasm goes and comes
But when it comes, it hits like a heart attack
Yeah, if you're lonely sing this song
I'm here, whatever you become,
But if I pleaded, Please put down the gun
You'd set it off, just for the heart attack
Sorry for the poor quality, when I'm at uni in the UK I leave my studio equipment at home so this is all just with my built-in mic on my computer.
I love your voice and the melody/lyrics are great too! You kind of remind me of Sandi Thom a bit.
Your laptop mic is also much better than mine I recorded myself and there was more background noise than anything.

Awh I'm sorry
But I'm actually pretty well versed in music production, at least for a singer-songwriter, so when I get in a bad situation with equipment I toy with settings and compression in my software to balance things out. If you listen to this through studio-quality headphones and not over YouTube you can definitely hear all kinds of white noise, very annoying!
But thank you so much I've never heard of Sandi Thom...care to elaborate or suggest something specifically? I'm constantly looking for new music.

She came out a few years ago and her song ''I wish I was a Punk Rocker'' was particularly big.

Yeah I definitely could, I won't redo the videos mostly because they are a pain in the butt but I definitely can adjust the levels for the mp3 and the version on my myspace if other people agree with that.
I tend to downplay the vocals in my own production because 1) I'm mixing through expensive headphones and not cheap laptop speakers so my perspective gets a little off and 2) I just think it's weird to hear my own voice too loud!
The Stone used to mix in the studio, then broadcast it over AM and sit out in the car and listen to it THEN go back for the final mix. GENIUS.

No dude she is AMAZING!!! Thank you!
*EDIT
She has a super soulful voice, honestly she sings like an American country singer only over not-country songs, which is odd for me to hear because I come from a state that worships country music (I don't!) but most of the women have PHENOMENAL voices and I've always thought it would be great to hear them doing something like this

Yes sure thing, I am probably going to need it in advance though, and just for easy deposit purposes it would also be helpful to have your debit card number and PIN, and possibly a photocopy of your driving license or passport.

Very impressive, and the quality is fine.
I would second the point on raising the level of the vocals a little, and also suggest some more variation in the dynamics in general (even if it's just greater emphasis on the chorus second time round or something). Overall though it's quite likeable, and much much better than anything I could do.
