Took LNAT on the 23rd. Went well. Except there was construction on the floor beneath my exam hall. Constant drilling, hammering. Proctor told me to "ignore the noise and pretend not to hear it". Emailed LNAT. They said that they will notify the universities to which I have applied... Should I still be worried?!
Other universities applied to: Bristol, Exeter, Cardiff, KCL
Additional info (acknowledgements, interviews, offers): I'm finding it worrying that I've heard nothing from anyone so far - not even a UCAS welcome letter!!
I haven't used TSR since I was doing my gcse's. It seems like ages ago, but here I am back for some more nail-biting and unnecessarily worrying academic chats.
Anyway, I'm applying to Oxford to read Law with French Law for entry in 2010. I was wandering if anyone else is in the same shoes?

Hey! Welcome back to TSR! I think it would be more helpful for you to include some data from your application using the OP format so ppl could see your course and probably contact you

Usually people are of a very low esteem on how they did lnat. At the end, however, most of them end up with some pretty decent marks. If you think that it went well even at this stage you shouldn't be worrying, really...

There isn't any way of knowing how well you did, because you can never be certain whether you were right or wrong ... unlike proper exams like biology, where you know you did well because you know the answers ...

Can I just ask, when Oxford let you know if and when you have an interview? Is it when they 'acknowledge' your UCAS application. Thanks
You're pratically doing the course I want to ... good luck too

Hey,
Oxford declare their interview dates well in advance and this year both Law and Law with Law studies in Europe (French, German, Spanish, Italian, and European law (taught in the Netherlands)) will take place between December 9th - 11th. If you have been allocated/applied to a college you should have heard from them by now (just an acknowledgement that they have received your app.) However, they claim that they will only notify you if you have an interview, or indeed if you do not have one around about 7-10 days before the interview dates (i.e not earlier than the 29th November and hopefully no later than the 2nd December).
I hope this helps... Basically, they have all the details they need about all the applicants now because lots of people sit the LNAT quite late (deadline is 1st November) and therefore they cannot really begin to decide whom they are to interview until all LNAT scores have come through. What I'm saying is we can assume that they only really started fully considering applications on Monday of this week (first working day back after the 1st). I may be very wrong but that's just my opinon
What is your course btw? college? other universities?
I did my LNAT on 30 October - hmm duno how that went =/
Made an open application, then got an e-mail informing me that I've been admitted to St. Catherine's. Then I got an e-mail explaining about Permanent Private Halls. Just wondering what option is advisable to choose? Thanks =)
I've applied to Birmingham, Leicester, Oxford(Exeter College), UCL and Warwick for English Law and French Law.
I had acknowledgements from all but Leicester. Got an offer from Warwick last week and an offer from Leicester today.
For the person who is enquiring about UCL, I was acknowledged late September
Just to say I didn't get an acknowledgment from leicester either, then got an e-mail in the post to make me an offer so they must orchestrate more in the post =)

Thanks! good to see another Law and French-er Late september? you must have sent your UCAS off pretty early. I'm just anxious because I have been acknowledged by all of my other choices except for UCL.
Good luck with Exeter, it's quite a while till we hear whether we've got interviews or not!

Yeah i got that as well. Personally, I don't particularly want to go to a PPH because they are incredibly small and often very religious places ( St. Benedict's i think actually has tutors who are monks) I dunno if that's your piece of cake but.... i'd much rather go to a college where consumption of alcohol is permitted and they have a bar, oh and the Monks thing kinda puts me off the PPH business.
Having said that, I'm gonna be in the "default" position by not replying because they made it very clear that you will be considered by your college and other colleges as well so unless all your interviews go terribly it's unlikely that you will be "passed" onto a PPH. Also, I think it's a bit cocky to tell Oxford "actually no I don't want you to bother considering me for a PPH.. It's colleges or nothing! kinda thing"
Also, St. Catherine's is cool.. its the youngest and therefore the most modern college in oxford... So good luck with that!

Hey, thanks for responding!
I will submit my UCAS application next year ... I am just sort of doing some early research ... I emailed Oxford and asked what qualifiactions students get in Paris and was told it was the certificat superior de droit francais ...
I guess you have an interview then?
