WJEC distributed database
In a distributed database, are parts of the data stored on more than one machine - ie. is there data duplication?

I think the data is just spread over a number of different machines so that storage space and processing can be shared. There are dangers of data duplication due to the complexity of the system, but the DBMS is supposed to ensure that this is not the case.
