I would keep in mind that you're there to learn about the career and lifestyle of medicine, not medicine itself. While it's pretty cool to pick up new things, that's not the point of work experience.
Don't bother bringing a notebook as others have suggested. It will just get in the way and I think it would weird people out if you stood there taking "notes" the whole time.
Oh and don't ask questions for the sake of asking questions. That's just a waste of time for both of you.
