Shy Student: Help!

Hey everyone,

Don't really know why I'm posting this on here but any help would be much appreciated.

Basically I'm on my gap year and teaching piano in Dubai. Its been going really well, and I now have a full list of students and am crazy busy. Most of them are very friendly/chatty, but I have a little girl of about 12 who is super super shy, I can't coax anything out of her in the lessons and really struggling to find a way to make the lessons interesting for her. Her Mum says she is enjoying the lessons but its imposible to tell as she won't really speak to me, She is an okay pianist, but I'm not even sure she has understood half of what I say unless I make her play something to illustrate which just isn't fun! :confused:
