What recent sad story/tragedy in the news can i base my verbatim theatre project on?

Hi guys, basically i have to research a recent sad story/tragedy from the news, and basically write an essay explaining how i can go about presenting a verbatim play on it.

I know how to go about the essay dont worry, but everyones doing their essays on the same stories.

Can anyone think of a different story that i can get some information on, enough to write a 1500 word essay on?
