    I've seen Spybot Search & Destroy clean even the badly infected machines. And the Trend Micro Housecall online anti-virus scan.

    not really.

    i have 2 firewalls, AVG and 2 decent adware tools (ad-aware and spybot)

    very rarely have any bother.
