What do we need to know about each study+theory to get full marks on any Q[edexcel AS

What do we need to know about each study+theory to gurantee full marks on any question?
(edexcel AS level psychology cognitive and social unit)

So we need to know theories like Craik and Tulving, Milgram, etc. and theories like social identity, etc.

What do we need to know about each theory and each study to ensure we can get full marks on any question relating to the theory or study?

Like what points do I need to cover about each study/theory?

Also, when asked to evaluate a theory/study, do you just describe a few of the strengths and weaknesses of that particular study/theory or is there more?

Thanks a lot

Your teacher really should have told you what you need to know for each theory, or it should at least be in your textbook.

The edexcel textbooks were really good for last year's psychology syllabus, and I'm sure most of the stuff should still be relevant. You can get a textbook for the main areas, there's one for atypical psych (clinical), criminal, child etc.

You need to full understand the theory and be able to write down the fundamental aspects of each. If you get an essay on a theory you really need at least 4 evaluation points for the theory, and then at least 4 against it. They can be quite short points, but make sure you understand them so you can elaborate on them. The evalution points can also include studies (e.g a study that supports the theory), and you then need to know the evalution points for each study. Its best to learn more than 4 each though, incase you foget some in the exam.

Also look at the mark schemes to see what the examiners want.
