Ah ok, maybe ill just wait for a little while then
do you know how soon?
We stop legislative activity yesterday and the election starts on the 7th/8th so you'll be able to view all the Parties/ Independent Candidate's manifestos from the 7th/8th.
Yea i think im very one way on some things and very the other on other things.
Im browsing currently. =] tar
Ima try and find thier stances on university education somewhere
You could look for the old election thread where the manifestos were posted in the search function. I'm Labour leader and I was almost exactly in the same place and also have wide and wierd views that do not fit in with Labour.
Have to be in for Midday on the 7th, so I guess by the 8th (November).
You are probably better off sending Dayne (the speaker) a PM about other stuff because this is getting off-topic :P
Anyway good luck with finding the party best suited to you.
thank =]

So, what you reckon about these leader debates then? ;p
And I think they're a good idea, they will of course expose Kolya (Centre Party leader) as the best leader in the House
It will be good for newcomers or people who want to vote to see exactly where each party stands without all the usual bickering (assuming that the leader is the best representative of a party).

So yep I think they would be good
Edit: Or was that a joke?
did he not run as an independant last time around?
Yea they should be good - as the peripheral comments from random users will be removed.
He did indeed, Centre Party is a new party. I've only been involved a couple of weeks.
And 'peripheral comments' is a good way of putting it (although it does imply that only the leader is important )
The implication i meant was that I could ignore the people I had no interest in listening too far easier when there was only one person from each party there as opposed to several all chipping in.
Plus, assumedly the leader should have the most exhastive knowledge of the party?

To be honest as soon as the PCP say something it will end up like their Questions thread.
Dayne should PM all leaders with say 10 questions put forward by the members of the house. The leaders can discuss each with their party and provide responses accordingly which would then be posted as a sticky.
The 10 questions would be about important issues such as education, health care etc.

Yeah I know
And as a rule yes, not always though. I suppose its just the fairest way of choosing a capable representative without things getting complicated.
This has gone off topic Move it to the commons bar. Actually it might be worth opening up that FAQ for newbie discussion and questions.
anyway, I like this idea, especially the Drogue version. I would say that anyone (mp or not) can PM me questions to ask of the parties and I select a few to ask them. After a week I take the answers of the parties (and independents) and post them up in a new thread where they can be discussed on mass. I don't think this would need an amendment, and pasing something into the guidance document should really only be formality, so I'd be happy to start this.

Yes this would be the best format! I hope it happens now (I don't see why it shouldn't?)

I still don't know how the PCP got past the mods especially since they didn't let LIBERAL AL qaeda form, which would have been such an awesome party.

I think both should be done - this wouldbe good as a reference for new people like me!
The problem with the statement idea you propose is that, while someone could easily make thier own comparisons, this would dilute any 'debate' quality - which I think was the whole point.
I think your idea should be done first - then a week later the debate should happen when the leaders have had time to read other party stances?
