Default Zoology at Swansea? [/biological sciences]

Hey

Im starting to get interested in Swansea beacause its closer to home and a bigger city to my initial "ideal" uni [bangor]
Buuuut, it just doesnt offer the same perfect course as bangor which is annoying!

Anyone who has done the course or any other biological course here, would you say it's a good option? Im still applying anyway but i would appreciate feedback

Cheers!

Don't know too much about the course myself but a mate of mine studied Zoology and he now works out on a stud farm in America, obviously did him ok but i guess it all depends on what you want out of the course and what you want to do after you graduate.

The course should be good for you then, but if you prefer the course at Bangor then i guess that might be better. The course at Swansea is really good as far as i know. My mate seemed to do really well out of it, he got really good grades at school so had pretty much any uni to choose from when he picked Swansea. But he did go down a more practical hands on route whereas you want a more academic route, I can ask my friend about the course for you if you like.

Will chat to him at some point over the next few days and let you know.

Bangor is a shocking place, only been there a couple of times and it's tiny, I was in OTC so we occasionally did things with Bangor Coy. Swansea as a city is pretty pants too to be honest, it's full of ugly architecture because it was heavily bombed during the war but it has a few decent shops and isn't too bad for a night out. The uni is good though, with it being a campus uni it's great because everything is really close by, the library is good too, although they don't always have everything you need but unless you go to Oxbridge with their immense budgets, you'll find that problem anywhere. If you live on campus you can live in a proper little student bubble and not have to worry about what's going on outside campus, and there's also the student village a couple of miles away, some people love living up there, but it wouldn't have been my cup of tea.
