Alrighty folks, a big bunch of us are going to arrange a subcrawl for Friday 13th November, really aimed at 1st year students doing Economics and/or Management for people to meet new folk, but pretty much anyone's free to come, if you want to come and invite a few mates to get wrecked then fire in.
We'll all meet at Hillhead subway station and go from there, looking to aim for around an 11-12am start. If enough interest's shown on here, we'll make a Facebook group for it so we can see how many people are going to come.
That's the Facebook page, mind and invite mates if you want, hopefully get as big a turnout as possible on the day.
Possible list that I got from a previous SubCrawl (that I wasn't at) is:
Kelvinbridge - The Primary
Hillhead - Curlers
Kelvinhall - The Dolphin/The Partick Tavern
Partick - Hayburn Vaults
Govan - Brechin Bar
Ibrox - The Stadium Bar
Cessnock - The Kensington Bar
Kinning Park - The Doctors/The Grapes
Shields Road - The Honours Three
West Street - The Lord Nelson
Bridge Street - The Laurieston
St Enoch - Times Square
Buchanan Street - The Gallery
Cowcaddens - Macintosh's Bar
St Georges Cross - The Captains Rest
If anyone fancies going elsewhere at any of the stops, post up what you'd like, completely open to suggestions.
8pm? most pubs don't have licences earlier than 11am, so if we start around 11, that give us plenty time. subway is open til midnight ish, i'm sure - should give us plenty of time.
and yeah first couple of stops is fine, whatever suits you dude.
So you are wanting to do it during the day? When people have lectures/jobs? And when the subway is packed?
Well considering this WAS mainly aimed at people doing Economics/Management (both of which don't have any lectures on a Friday), that's why we chose that day. We can't really make it much later, so it has to be during the day, or else there won't be enough time to get round all the stops.
And if people are working that day, there's not really much I can do?
I'm assuming most students have weekend jobs as opposed to jobs during the week, so another point of having it on a Friday.
There really is no need to start at that time in the morning. Having one drink at each pub won't take you twelve hours! Part of the fun is splitting in to teams and trying to get around as fast as possible. But, hey, it's up to you. Do it however you want.

So you suggest starting at 8pm and giving ourselves like 3 hours? Yeah that'll work.
The majority of people have agreed that the time is fine and gives people the chance to go out after it if they want as well. 15 stops, 15 pubs and having a drink with leaving time to comfortably get between stations.

Yes, that is generally the idea. Do it in the evening starting at anytime after 6pm (so after the rush hour), try to get around the stops as quick as possible and then by the time you have finished it's time the clubs are open and so can go straight there.
I was thinking, if anything, that's not enough time. Your going to be wrecked at the end of it! I wish Aberdeen had an underground love the sound of a subcrawl.

Getting wrecked at the end of it is the whole idea. Which is also why it's a good idea to do it in the evening/night, because then you aren't subjecting as many as the general public, school kids, students, to the drunken antics of the group doing it.
You WILL NOT get an entire subcrawl done between 8pm and closing time at 11.30. There's 15 stops, that's 15 drinks plus travelling time- we needed roughly seven hours to get round it, 4pm is a sensible start time (although it coincides with rush hour), but even then you might find yourself having to miss stops out. It's a pretty big commitment, lots people miss out some of the stops on the other side of the river and do Hillhead/Kelvinhall/Partick/St Enoch/Buchanan/Cowcaddens/St Georges/Kelvinbridge. Gives you a selection of decent bars and enough time to start at 6.30ish after rush hour and still finish before closing.

For 15 pints? You would need a good 12 hours or so to do it.

I've done from starting at 7.30 and we managed to get around all the stops, going to the nearest pub to that station. We were having a race though, which might have spurred us on a bit. And may have been lucky with catching the trains, but still, there's no reason to start at 11am!

Maybe so we can take our time and have a laugh, whilst getting **** wrecked?
I don't know what your problem is, if you don't want to come, just say you don't want to come instead of bitching about there's no reason to start at 11am.

Largely my problem revolves around a load of drunkards piling on to the subway during the day, when it's already packed. Especially if they intend to 'surf' their way to the next station.

The subways only packed around rush hours when folk are heading to work. If it's so much of a problem, stay away from the subway, if you don't want to see a group of drunk people, not as though we're going to be causing any trouble.

If you don't know anyone and want to come along, feel free to bring a mate or 2, really just trying to get as many folk to come along and meet new people.

I get the subway every day and can assure you that is is busy for the best part of the day. You're going to be able to police a group of drunk students and ensure they don't cause any trouble, then good luck! It's not like you know everyone who is going. Being drunk during the day and all trying to get on the subway is a recipe for disaster, and may even get the police involved. Hey, again, it's up to you. I just don't particularly want to meet hammered folk in the afternoon.
