Haha! Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this...
Everyone I had on fb except the guys at college had literally tens of pages of pics, with the same people in, with the same expressions on their faces. If you look closely, they are fake smiles, and it's a "smile" they use in EVERY photo. I love photos as much as the next person, but 16+ pages in albums like "October Nights out" is excessive. Since when was nipping down to Tesco an opportunity for a photoshoot?
I deactivated my account in June cos I'm fed up of the status updates such as "Jamie is having a crap and is then going in the shower" and "Rob has just had pasta for his tea"
EDIT: Oh and another thing, why do people have to bring cameras when going out clubbin? If it's an occasion fair enough, but your usual Friday/Saturday night p*ss up is no excuse. Also, isn't it funny how they only upload decent pics of themselves from that night, and put up pics of you absolutely plastered?! lol
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
Some people definitely do, I don't get it though, it's not like anyone is ever gonna look at them again. Maybe they want a bigger number under their name.
I don't though, there are 4 of me lol
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
Yeah nowadays most pictures are taken purely to show off how 'good' their 'social life' is. The most retarded thing about people who live on Facebook (which is the majority of students these days) is when they're out say at a party or something they say how good the party is...on facebook!! If the party's so ******* good then why are you on facebook you tard! And also why do people say their life storys on their status? its some stupid **** like - 'I'm getting ready for tonight' or 'I'm going to the shops' or 'I'm eating pasta' or 'Why am I so gay?'....we don't want to know these things you dick!?

Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
I like Facebook. The other day my computer crashed and we lost everything, including all of our pictures (yes, I know, I should have backed it up). All of the best ones are on Facebook so it didn't really matter too much .

Yeah i know loads of people that do that, mostly female.
I dont see how they can enjoy themselves that much if they are taking all those photos
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
I honestly think that some people do actually do this, some photos are great for memories......but having five pages of photos from just one night out, seriously?
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
I personally don't. I go out to have a good time, and sometimes bring my camera to take a few pics so I can look back on the night and relieve the memories. I never take any of me though because I look awful in pictures and I don't take that many- for instance I took a camera to my Halloween night out cos people were in costume but I only took 17 pics.
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
i'm one of those people who take lots and lots of pictures of my friends on nights out... not if its a random night out clubbing mind, more if its people's 18ths etc... BUT i always put them on a memory stick/disk for the people involved if it was just a few of us so we can look back on the night together... i only put very few on FB...
i like having pictures for memories, not to 'show off'
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
Facebook's too important for some people, it's a bit weird thinking about it. I tend to go out to have a good time, don't think I even have a camera come to think about it..
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
i love taking photos for memories and like to share them with my friends. simple as that, there is not agenda like you are implying. I actually find people who never put photos on facebook abit odd, like they are abit recluse.
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
What annoys me more is when all these people comment endlessly on their albums, and there is a whole conversation about how 'great' the night apparantly was.
And another thing that annoys me is when larger girls take photos of themselves in little tight dresses, doing the duck face thing. yuck.
Re: Do people go out purely to take Facebook photos?
Well, Facebook is the medium through which people share photos now...and to be honest I do love having one place where all my photos are, and even though I've saved most to the computer it's good to have a back up online.
It does annoy me when people spend a lot of time taking photos, especially if they're all of the same pose. But if it's a special occasion i.e. birthday, halloween, a night where dressing up ridiculously is involved, I think it's great to have photos to remember the night. I love looking back on my old photos from school and remembering funny things that happened, and I daresay I'll feel the same way when I leave uni. To have no pictures would be a shame.
And to be honest if I went on someone's facebook and there were only 30 odd photos I'd think they were a social recluse. And if they have 6,000 or more, a camera whore. There's definitely a happy medium of 400-1000.
