Default pyelonephritis - and cant see doctor for few days

'lo all!

i've diagnosed my self with "pyelonephritis" - it's not some kind of hypochondriac thing, i genuinely posses many of the symptoms and my right kidney itself is in pain.

i have had this pain since monday, noticed symptoms of urinary tract sice around saturday. it's now tuesday night, and the earliest doctors appointment i can get is friday.

as far as i know, this isnt going away by itself, and i dont want to make things worse. Can I go to a hospital or a private health clinic to get the anti-biotic prescription?

thanks!

I went to the hospital with this. Mainly because I was in immense pain, and they'll take a blood test and probably give you antibiotics. Mine was quite bad, so I had it through a drip first. So, go, they won't be horrible to you, and it'll cure your pain!!!!

Thanks, i'll try and go to the hospital. Got a few questions though.

Are there GP's or something at the hospital who will prescribe me the anti-biotics?

Will I have to wait once they take a urine sample? i can see some tiny dried blood in cloth!

I think i've caught this thing early and really dont want to wait. i've got coursework to be getting on with!

it depends how busy they are, they'll triage you first, then you'll have to wait a doctor will check you out and run some tests and then probably prescribe you some drugs that you can get at the hospital pharmacy

Yes.

Yes, depends how long though. I was in for about 4/5 hours before my test results came back. It was a blood test though.

I would go sooner rather than later, mine was crippling and I was off work for two weeks.
