Default Bf/gf having friends of the opposite sex

I don't really understand why some people get so jealous/insecure when their partner has friends of the opposite sex tbh.

I generally hang round with a group of guy mates, and a guy I've been seeing recently ( ) has a lot of girl mates who he's close to. Neither of us has issues with it. I don't feel insecure/jealous when he tells me he's spent the evening at his close girl mate's house (she helped him through some personal stuff recently), and nor did he when I showed him the pics I took on Halloween when I went out with my guy mates without him.

Maybe it's just me...but I don't feel jealous/insecure about him spending time with his girl mates, I trust him. I know some girls who apparently expect their boyfriend to basically drop all contact with other girls while in a relationship, and I just don't understand it tbh. I'm glad that my bf has good friends he can go to if he needs help (we've only got together quite recently; he spent the evening at his female friend's house the day after our first date while she helped him with some personal stuff), be they male or female.

Am I missing something?

there are some people who are just ridiculously insecure. I mean, it's all fine and dandy to have these jealous feelings if you don't know the friends. .. but after some time, surely you can tell who to trust and who not to and of course, trust your partner? *eyeroll*
