Have some money on this fight, Valuev to win by KO at 16/1, and Valuev to win in the 4th at 40/1. Worth a dabble really with those odds.

Makes me wish the BBC still had boxing, or that ITV were showing it. Even though I'm not a big boxing guy and there's every chance this fight will be boring as ****, it is intriguing at least on paper and Haye has been building it up.

But the impression that I've always got is that Valuev's height overhypes him and he's just stereotypically slow and not spectacular.

Valuev will be slow and boring to watch. I wanna see how haye is gonna deal with punches RAINING down on him though. Should be interesting. Overall I think Haye will win if it goes to points, but Valuev will probably rip him a new one well before that happens.

my brother seems to think vaulev will kill haye even with his body hair lool..i think haye has a good chance though..he has to last a lot of rounds to win

my predictions,

haye will start very sharply,
he will maintain a descent points advantage
eventually he will burn himself out
it will start to become a borefest
valuev will start to pick a point here and there
it will go to the judges.

Klitschko fight fell through due to a number of complications, Setanta's collapse being one of them. I think the **** talking from Haye gave way to this fixture so it was better than nothing. Though it seems kinda strange as Valuev complained that Haye's team kept on increasing the waiting period which then meant that he had to change course and fight Arreola. I actually think it works out better for Haye, beating Valuev (not an incredibly tall order, he's kinda underwhelming but he does have an underrated jab) should give him more of a pedigree and a better chance at unification come 2010.

I'm backing Haye. Valuev as impressive as his size is, isnt too great a boxer and hopefully Haye's speed will do the trick. The heavyweight division needs some spark in it, and Haye is that man. I think Haye will win, but split on whether a points a KO win.

A victory over Valuev will put him more on the map than if he'd fought the Klitchko's first. Also for those fights vs the brothers, it puts him a better bargaining position when they get to the negotiating table having slayed the Beast from the East.

I saw a photo of them stood shoulder to shoulder and I thought "what a mismatch" Sure many people are thinking the same but it's about technique and mobility as well as size.

The heavyweight division is as high as the divisions can go. Over that boundary, you can be any weight.

If Haye can employ the same tactics as Holyfield did he should take the fight, although he may well get robbed by the judges like Holyfield did. Just got to use his pace, i can't see him putting Valuev down and i can't have any of the 4/7 about him but i do see Haye winning. I just hope he doesn't have a rush of blood to the head and punch himself out, if he gets caught he's also going down as i don't have much faith in his chin.

Beauty of heavyweight my friend, perhaps why its so popular. Not only do you get the biggest guys with the biggest punches but you also get a level of diversity which cant be found in the numerous other weight categories.

Hehe, thats cos the competitors have been **** and we've lost the heavyweights who had spark and were willing to take risks. I know Haye is good but I dont rate him that high. But I would rather him win so we can at least add some kind of excitement to a division which has been in a quagmire for years.
