'Notes from a Large Hadron Collider' in Eureka

Very interesting in-depth article in the Eureka supplement of The Times today on the LHC - I was particularly intrigued to see Bill Bryson's take on the subject matter after travelling to CERN.

The physicists he speaks to seem extremely confidently that it will all run smoothly this time when they flick the switch, anyone else share their confidence? I can't help but be a bit sceptical.

There's an article online by Steve Myers explains what went wrong last time: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/science/eureka/
