I really need to hurry up and apply, but I just can't decide on which 5. Basically, i want to go somewhere that looks nice (got some green), has really good nightlife, a campus uni, and is well respected. Applying for psychology. Here's what i know of some unis, if anyone can suggest any others i would be so thankful!!
Leicester - visited hated the area
Exeter - loved the area but nightlife poor as everything shuts around 1?
Southampton - heard reallygood things similar to exeter
Bristol - nice city but didn't like how it wasn't campus
Leeds - great nightlife, bit far away but it is a campus.. is the campus pretty?
Nottingham - seems only one so far with nice campus and good nightlife
loughborough - apparently in the middle of nowhere and quite concretey?
bournemouth - most of my friends are applying there and parents really want me to apply for that reason but i don't know if i really should do this, don't know much about the uni other than its not ranked too welll
anyone know anything about bath?
is warwick really boring?
Sorry if my comments seem like quick judgements or stereotypes, but it's all i really know at the moment...any advice is really appreciated!! thanks
Depends what you want from nightlife, it's true there are only one or two clubs but I don't really like that sort of stuff so I don't know much about them. My friends seem to have no complaints though! I don't think everything shuts at 1 either.

Re: Can't choose 5 universities :S
I do Psych at Bristol breh, it's awesome. The nightlife is incredible, and the integration into the city is a total plus--even when you've got hours between lectures but you don't want to go home, you won't get bored. The city is so nice, and there is a "campus," per se...there's a rather large area that is nothing BUT university buildings. I went to a campus university last year, I loved it but it got old quickly!
I can't say enough nice things about the Psych department; incredibly nice and accessible professors, everyone I know LOVES their tutor, the building is really nice with an amazing little cafe with wifi and couches and stuff to pass spare time, the library is nice, and some of the first-year accommodation is just awesome (although some is not! haha)
Plus, as a city it's a great location because you're just a hop skip & a jump by train or [really cheap!] coach from London, Cardiff, Brum, Bath etc. if there's something that you really want to do in one of those places...but really Bristol's got tons. Plus a hilarious local accent :P
And the fact that it isn't campus isn't bad at all, because very nearly all of the accommodation is either in Stoke Bishop or Clifton. I'm in Stoke Bishop, and there are five halls up here so I'm living with thousands of other Bristol students. It's sort of the best of both worlds.
BONUS: I have not seen a single chav in my month and a half in the city of Bristol!
So I can't say enough nice things about Bristol . Do it!
Manchester, Hull, Queens Belfast, a London one, Bham, Luffbra apparently has amazing night life like proper manic.
I've heard alot of people say Warwick is vvv dull, but you can have lotsa fun if you look hard enough
I haven't seen all of Leeds uni but I wouldn't call it pretty... What I've seen of it is in the city centre and there's hardly any green in sight. Not sure if there's any more to it, I never considered applying. Still, if nightlife is your main consideration, you won't be disappointed.
Nottingham has an absolutely gorgeous campus.
York is really good for psych and has a very green campus with a lake (though the actual buildings are mainly grey and concretey). The nightlife isn't the best, but it's only a fairly short train ride away from Leeds.
Cardiff has a very good rep for psych... presumably plenty to do there with it being a big city.
Thanks everyone, yeah I don't want to go to London because i live here now and it's quite expensive. I'm just interested in the best campus universities, and universities with best nightlife... and if there are any that are both good with both..

Two minute walk uphill and you're at hyde park, which is quite big. Also you're a short train ride away from places like Saltaire (World Heritage Site). Nightlife is good in Leeds, as in Bradford which is a relatively cheap taxi ride away after a night out if there are enough of you going.
I also personally think the campus is quite pretty some of the older buildings are nice, and even grade 1 listed I think, so they can't even change the seats in the old lecture halls, they're all victorian or something, can't quite remember.

Yea there's green nearby, I just didn't see any on the campus itself. As I said though, I haven't really looked round it. I've been to it a couple of times for other reasons and live nearby.

Actually on the campus, there are small stretches of grass in front of the old buildings and I think thats it
I've come to this list: exeter, southampton, nottingham, leeds and birmingham
only just looked at birmingham and get the impression the night life is as good as leeds? but it's a prettier place? had a look on google maps satellite pictures dont know how good an impression that is but does look to be some green in leeds just not sure about scale and how near etc etc
I saw a bit of southampton and went around Bournemouth today, still keen on southampton but not sure on Bournemouth. I mean it's nice to be by the sea but seemed very small and college like.. but i think I'll apply to have a lower option and my friends all there.. but don't know if thats a good idea going to a small uni with my friends..
i definitely want to apply to exeter (although worried about nightlife), nottingham but now i need to decide which 3 out of
birmingham/leeds/bournemouth
i really want a nice campus + good nightlife
anyone know anymore? thanks for all the help already too
