Default Poor dancing skills in clubs

since I've been going clubbing, I have had several opportunities to dance with girls or at least we both face each other and dance together (like feed off each others' vibes). I've realised I am really really poor at this. This will normally happen in a crowd of people so people will be partly watching me while they are dancing. Even if I am slightly drunk, I just can't dance with her in a good way. If my dancing skills were good and I could dance the way she was hoping for, she would have a better opinion of me and more likely to get me with later in the night. Right now, I just dance in a group, moving side to side, and if a girl singles me out as wanting to dance with her, I shy away and I have not danced with any properly yet. I believe the first move towards pulling a girl is dancing with her and making her feel special, and then she has a good opinion of you.

Get wasted then you're either:

  • The best dancer in the world

  • Or still a bad dancer but you're too drunk to care!

Erm, try salsa. It's sooooo easy, just throw in spins and stuff, make her do all the work. Girls love a dominant man!

I'm afraid the best advice really is... get more drunk! Dancing is all about confidence - a bit of dutch courage will give you the confidence to dance more openly, which generally converts to better dancing. You'll learn after a while the level of drunkeness that you need to be at to dance "well" - too little and you'll be self-conscious; too much and you'll err.. lurch as opposed to dance!

Either way dancing has little to do with attracting the opposite sex so get over it

It doesn't really matter what dance moves you do, so long as you don't do them awkwardly. A few tongue in cheek "big fish little fish"-es done confidently is better than being embarrassed about it.
