Have you applied to medicine this year? If so, you should already have a good idea.. If not, then you shouldn't be asking here. Go get some work experience. I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but if you're persistent, then something should happen.

There are lots of rewards. Constant academic challenge. Emotional rewards - having a positive impact in the lives of people. The trust you get from patients during some of the most vulnerable times of their lives is a huge privilege. Good career prospects, good pay, huge variety of career choices within medicine and surgery and general practice.

Challenges include coping with the emotional fallout when patients die, or when you develop relationships with particluar patients you connect with. The constant reapplying for jobs and CV bashing is not fun. Whilst we don't work the hours previously expected of junior doctors the shift based jobs are not much fun. The responsibility you have can be daunting at times.

All in all a fab career as long as you enjoy it.

LMFAO that would have been imusing for the rest of you!! One of my mates copied my answer to a question word for word and to the same refrence shame for her as the refrence was a book my uncle has written but is still waiting for public release.
