OK, there are loads of little interview threads popping up all over the place, so I'm going to make one thread and from here onwards all general interview threads will be merged into here. All med school-specific ones will be merged into that uni's applicants' thread (most of them have one now). This is for all the "What should I wear?" "How do you answer x question?" "What should I read..." stuff.

Please do not discuss specific interview questions on here; plenty of admissions tutors read this site.

But some girls wore suits. Just wear what you feel comfortable in but make sure it's smart.

A lot of people are very formally dressed - when your school dress code is a suit as it is at a lot of (mainly private) schools, it doesn't make sense to wear any less really.

Hair back or hair down?
I always feel more confident with my hair down, but I might fiddle with it, and your expressions are generally clearer when it's back

Eyeliner or no eyeliner?
Is eyeliner too much makeup?

I'm not 100% serious about these concerns btw before someone comes along.. "you'll be a bad doctor with no common sense if you're worrying about that"

ha i was just curious because im also trying to decide what to wear to a vetmed interview.
i feel more confident with my hair down, it also makes me feel more relaxed.. but im not sure if im going to.
and eyeliner? if u wear it day to day then yeahh.. but i wouldnt go OTT with it
just saw yr interview is on wednesday too.. good luck

i think im gona wear smart grey/black trousers with Black leather boots.
then a Vneck jumper thing. i dont think i would feel at all comfortable in a suit, ive never worn one before.

I think i'm going to wear a dress. Its quiet plain and conservative but still with a nice retro cut and it's dusty pink =)
Then i've got mary janes and a suit jacket.
I really wouldn't feel comfortable in a suit, but i don't know if its a bit overly girly!
I'm probably way over thinking this...

I wore smart dark trousers (from next), with a bright turquosiey v-neck, scarf and bright dangly earrings to match. (from fat face if anyones interested and a smart wool coat over the top (also next)

I wore a pair of kitten heels (maybe an inch-2inches high)

As for make up I think I just did eyeliner and a lick of mascara, hair was down (my hair is short, only shoulder length anyway)

I wore the same thing for both Bristol and Leicester interveiws.

At the end of the day all that matters is that you look smart and presentable, I was thinking along the lines of looking professional - what would I wear working as a doctor?

Only had one interview but I wore black highwasted trousers, a white ruffly shoulderless blouse thingy and a red cardigan with mid height mary janes....wasn't massively formal like a suit but i looked smart and professional without being frumpy . And there were other girls there i saw in suits, who obviously weren't that used to wearing them and so just looked uncomfie......so definitely if your comfie in a suit go for it, if not then a suit isn't the be all and end all.

haha i got quite annoyed that it's now on sale cos i got it for the full price, but i think its only the blue one which is £5

i think wear whatever suits you and ur comfortable in, i've never worn a suit in my life and i look quite stupid in one, prob cos im quite petite
