History Dissertation

Hi, I'm new to the site and hope someone can help me. I am doing a history dissertation on Medicine in England 1628-1858, I have done a lot of information of North Staffordshire Infirmary and want to write about it but am having difficulty thinking of a question that will focus on an argument instead of just describing it's history. I know it's not so easy to help when I already have quite a specific idea but any advice would be very helpful.

Hey, you'd probably be better asking that question on a more history-based forum, especially considering this website seems to be full of A-level/GCSE history help, and not so much degree level. Try googling 'Historum' which is a decent history forum, and they might be able to help you some more.
I really have no idea about what your dissertation topic, but maybe something like "to what extent were the most significant medical developments made in the period (of say) 1800-1850?" and just base it on the records you've got?
