As someone on here pointed out, Debenhams accept online applications for store positions, and I thoroughly recommend it. I applied online for a supervisor position at 8pm last night, and had a 15 minute preliminary phone interview at 9.15am this morning. Very quick response.

This one has been keeping me in steady employment for 6 months or so working as a tutor. Takes a little while (and sweet talk buttering up the parents) to get jobs offered, but worth the effort, especially at 20 quid an hour...

This sounds rather interesting... I'd love to do something like this if possible. What qualifications did you have when you started this?

i got my job by applying online for GAP. pay is £5.35p/h with 50% discount

also, they've really helped me out as i'm working at a london store while i'm at home but they're transferring me to a birmingham store in september. they said i can basically just move between the two stores depending on when i'm home / away!

think the website is gapcareers.co.uk but not sure

I like the thread =) So many job boards!
As for me, I've recently found a job at http://www.clickajob.co.uk.
What I really liked is a possibility to search vacancies from lots of job boards at one place. It's very fast and efficient. There is one feature that impressed me greatly - you can search jobs by location entering a UK city or postcode into the location field.

Why do some (actually, most, that I've tried) of these websites not work? You enter a postcode or townname and it puts anything it wants up. LONDON within 10miles of my town north of Birmingham? Don't think so.

Depends where you work. Retail is easy to find and you can get anywhere between £4.50 and £6.50/7 per hour. Although boring, things like call centres will bring in good money - especially if you're good at selling and then can make big commission bonuses!

Just thought I'd compile them all so that people can see all their options at a go,since it doesn't look to have been done.

    Recruitment Agencies Websites

With most agencies you just need to register with them by either emailing a CV, online or by going in to register and they look for work for you.Remember to call up regularly to check if they have work for you.
