Not to mention how awful the layout is and to much of the colour yellow being used too!
Agreed. I hate it. The old one was so good!

Completely, there was nothing wrong with it at all. It wasn't as if it even looked dated either like you sometimes get with sites after time. I don't like the drop down crap and you've got to go through it to find the league or team you want. Maybe that's just on my half that it's a pain to scroll down (seeing as my scroller on the laptop is buggered) so it's just annoying. Nothing was wrong with it so they should never have changed it. It was like with BBC606, they changed it and now it's just plain awful!

I wouldn't mind so much if it worked at a half-decent speed. I've noticed over the last week or so that the BBC news website has gone all slow as well. They must be having background network issues.

    The colour scheme/design is horrific.

It’s not big, hard or clever. Unless your armchair is much better than ours.

Christ there are some terrible sides in the league this year. Going on points per game so far you’re looking at Wigan and Bolton ending up on about 28, Blackburn and QPR on 30 or scraping 31, and Wolves on 32. All 5 are lower totals than what West Ham got last year, and they finished bottom.

There might be the ‘****, we’re gonna get relegated, better start playing properly’ upturn in results towards the end of the season but it’s hard to imagine anyone hitting 39 points which is what both Birmingham and Blackpool got last season. A bit has to be put down to the improvement at the top, City, Utd and Spurs have all raised their game, but these sides at the bottom are lacking any sort of character.

Difficult to call at the moment. Wigan haven’t got the possibility of an N’Zogbia inspired run of form to keep them up, and Rodellega has been poor, so they’re struggling. Blackburn should be miles adrift, seem completely disjointed both on the pitch and off, but they’re still in there and fighting. Had a brief look at the fixtures and Bolton seem to have the best of it, but they also have a pretty terrible team. A few decent home fixtures and it’s not gonna take many wins to stay up but they just don’t seem to have the players to get those wins. QPR and Wolves have the most quality in their squads but with fairly new managers they’re a bit unpredictable, and QPR play pretty much all the top sides. I’ll go Wolves and Blackburn to stay up. Wolves I’m fairly confident on, Blackburn is a gut instinct.

Cattermole to serve a four match ban, he was sent off after the final whistle yesterday.

Thought it was a second yellow, obviously not. What an absolute idiot, should be stripped of the captaincy tbf as he almost never plays.

So did I. Looks like he got a two game ban for his 10th yellow and then two more games for a straight red for abusive language.

Well in Gregg Wylde - can't be easy to walk away from Rangers not knowing where your future lies. Seems like he's got his head screwed on right too, here's a quote attributed to him....

I volunteered to walk with no redundancy package today to help the other people in the club who have families, like the kitchen staff.

Next stop Bolton? Although I realise that he'd have to get special dispensation etc etc etc and everyone else would probably whinge about it.

If he is not attached to Rangers then no dispensation is required.

Do players not have to be registered in the 25 man squad, though?

EDIT: He is under-21, so probably not.

Players who were attached to a club at the end of the last transfer window (like Wylde was) need approval from the English/Scottish FA if they subsequently become a free agent and then agree a move to a club that falls under one of these associations....

I can't see any association saying 'no' to him though given that he basically sacrificed himself in order to try and give Rangers a better chance of surviving.
