Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VII(Original post by Point!)
Well in Gregg Wylde - can't be easy to walk away from Rangers not knowing where your future lies. Seems like he's got his head screwed on right too, here's a quote attributed to him....
I volunteered to walk with no redundancy package today to help the other people in the club who have families, like the kitchen staff.
Next stop Bolton? Although I realise that he'd have to get special dispensation etc etc etc and everyone else would probably whinge about it.
Paper work has apparently been ****ed up and he is still a Rangers player. Can't make this last month up(Original post by Deshi)
Was just about to post this, got a lot of respect for that guy.

Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VIIYou are not Batman(Original post by CJ)
Long time UFT!
I'm going to White Hart Lane tonight to watch Stevenage try and make it 3 losses in a row for Spurs
Well excited

I'm Batman.
(0-0 at full time, Spurs player sent off, Stevenage to win on penalties)
I hope it is, although I'll settle with Stevenage winning AET!
Hope it's good mate

Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VII
One of the greatest keepers of all time. Probably the best I've seen in my lifetime. Great performances domestically, in Europe and internationally.
I love the absolute look of disbelief on the faces of the strikers as they realize their shot was saved (Inzaghi's reaction is priceless). -
Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VII
Buffon is one of my (many) goalkeeping idols - such incredible reflexes.
Admittedly, I'd be expecting him to save the Lurling effort and Zidane's second one (which is straight at him, even if at pace), but he's up there on my list as one of the all-time greats:
Yashin, Maier, Tomaszewski, Zoff, Schmeichel, Kahn, Buffon, and to an extent, Seaman.
Although I also like Aurrecochea just for being so mental.

Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VIII also thought Zidane's frustration in the international was funny: it comes right after the CL one, so it's almost like Buffon spends all his time thwarting Zidane and the latter going 'Oh come on...'(Original post by Stu Laverty)

Re the Buffon comp, what was the last one appealing for? Sympathy?
(He seems to think it went in, if you were partly serious
)

Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VIIIt's Buffon's way of getting back at Zidane for having the audacity to chip a penalty against him (in a World Cup final against the best keeper in the world - utterly ridiculous).(Original post by Abiraleft)

Re: The Ultimate Football Thread VIIWould be 1-0 to QPR if we had goal line technology/the officials paying attention(Original post by hbk4894)

May I add, that was a horrific stamp. Disgraceful.Last edited by Akkuz; 10-03-2012 at 16:11.
