Looks like Tim Cahill is off to the MLS, with Everton agreeing a deal for him to join New York Red Bulls.

His influence has been on the wane in the last season or two. Interesting to see who, if anyone, they bring in to replace him.

That's nice to hear, we might actually beat Everton at Goodison now :awesome:

The quoted 1 mil for him seems a bit low to me, even if he is 32. Don't know what his contract situation is, though, so maybe that's it...

In other news, a 30-yard own-goal in the Ukrainian Premier League. :p:

Two years left on his Everton deal, but its a dream of his [apparently] to play/live in the US. Like I said, his influence has been on the wane, with him scoring three goals last season in 41 games, whereas before he had scored 9 in 28 games. It seems like he's pushed for this deal.....

A Robbie Keane-style dream or something more substantial? :p: It makes sense, I suppose, but it would have been nice to see Everton get a bit more out of him. I wonder if Moyes will be given the full amount to spend now; Everton probably need an extra midfielder (Pienaar's been touted to return, I believe).

The olympics has already started with the women football. People don't seem to be interested. Team GB is playing New Zealand at the Millenium stadium and the stadium is just about half full. As for the 2nd game between the US and France, I'd be surprised if the attendance reaches 10K. Such a shame!!!

I see Robbie Savage has offered to play for Rangers for free if they want him. Fair play.

So, did he turn down Monchengladbach/Newcastle, or what? :holmes:

Did anybody see Gazza on The Angelos Epithemiou Show? He looked completely off his face.

Naismith has already been brought in and with a full strength side Cahill was no longer starting. Plus we should hopefully see more of Barkley this season and Rodwell (if he can avoid injuries)

Fellaini couldn't step up more than he already does - genuinely one of the most dominant midfielders in the league

From our perspective the move isn't about the fee but more about getting Cahill off our wage bill. He was one of our highest paid players who wasn't performing to the same level for a good 18 months.

I wouldn't say Cahill's pushed for the deal, more than it suits all sides really well.

Pienaar should be signing on Tuesday I believe - If we can add one more and retain our most important players then we're on for a serious challenge for Europe.

On a final note I want to say that Cahill really has been the symbol of the Moyes era. The man will always be the definitive Everton icon of the naughties! He'll always be loved at Goodison Park.

Charity Shield tomorrow? Absolutely buzzing for the season to start. Would be even more eager if we made some more signings!

    Fellaini is a mother****ing bowse.
Europe is a battle between newcastle and you, possibly the cup winners too.
