Nottingham want ABC/BBB and is generally considered to have a nice campus. Their course only really deals with analytic philosophy, so it's probably not ideal if you're looking for a more flexible, varied modular degree.
Sussex want AAB-ABB. Again, you said you don't want a big city life, so I'd look into this one as well. More varied than the Nottingham course, but that bonus is reflected in the higher entry requirements.
And there's Essex. It's a fantastic uni for the social sciences with a vast amount of modules to pick from. Has fantastic research and teaching scores and wants BBB (300 ucas points). But the campus is a bit scummy, and the facilities aren't reeeally top notch.
As for not having studied the subject before, that shouldn't be an issue as it hasn't prevented me from getting an offer. Just make sure you make note of your wider reading and enthusiasm in your PS, and the unconditionals should come rolling in.
