Re: Who's got an offer from Strathclyde? I have!Me, me, me!! Just got a conditional offer for Business, which is to easy to be achieved, so Strathclyde is probably going to be my insurance. Is it your firm choice?(Original post by imonlylittle)
I've got an unconditional to Strathclyde for Business N100
Applied on 29th November, heard back January 31st
Anyone else heard any good news from the Business School?
Yes, I've read many positive reviews not only for the Business School, but for the University itself.
Btw does anyone know what is the difference between their ''Business'' and ''Management'' course, because these two usually form the same degree and syllabus, plus the entry requirements are exactly the same...Last edited by freeckle; 05-03-2012 at 20:29. -

Got a conditional offer for 'Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering'
If you want any info feel free to ask. I did the first year, and both my flatmates are still on that course

Re: Who's got an offer from Strathclyde? I have! You'll need a lab coat, safety glasses and a spatula. Oh and a hardback lab book with graph paper on the opposite side. All of which you can buy on campus fairly cheap(Original post by ScottishShortiex)
Do we receive reading lists/book recommendations for our course and if we do, when is this usually? Also because I'm doing a chemistry course will I be told what lab equipment (lab coat, safety glasses, etc) i'll need to buy?
Thanks
I used to be ACCE, so did the chem labs last year :P
I could download this year's 1st year chemistry handbook (with all the module descriptors and reading lists) and send it to you, if you so desire?Last edited by GingerGoat; 11-03-2012 at 00:40. -

Think I'll just buy the lab stuff once I'm there then if its going to be cheaper. I think I managed to find that First Year Handbook you're talking about, but there doesn't seem to be veey many books on it...think theres only two under the Maths module description then another two or three under the Chemistry modules. Is it only the books mentioned on that that we should get?

Re: Who's got an offer from Strathclyde? I have!Tbh you can get by without the books, as they provide you with notes anyway. Better to just get them from the library when you need them tbh. Much cheaper.(Original post by ScottishShortiex)
Thanks!

Re: Who's got an offer from Strathclyde? I have!congratulations! hope you get what you need(Original post by Alt__x)
I got a conditional for management today!!!
Chuffed to bits
Need to get AAB in my highers this year, going to work my arse off to get it!!
Is Strathclyde your first choice? I've heard so many good things about the business school!
im stuck between glasgow and strathclyde! want to do management and economics, and glasgow is better for economics... so i still need to make up my mind
guessing strath is your first choice? -

not sure, either this or glasgow (want to do economics and management)
the difference is that the business n100 is just to get into the business school, it isnt an exact course... getting in allows you to choose any 5 subjects from within the business school (including management, economics, marketing etc.) but management is the exact course.
By applying for Business N100 it gives you the choice to choose whatever business subjects you want, whereas if you apply for management you have to stick do that subject... i applied for N100 cause i wasnt exactly sure what i want to do, i didnt want to apply for management and not have as much flexibility to change it

Re: Who's got an offer from Strathclyde? I have!Is there a "law handbook" ?! Could you do the same for me, download the 1st year law handbook. I'd be very grateful, because I'm currently holding an offer and I'm considering Strathclyde ...(Original post by GingerGoat)

Can you shed some light about the law course as a whole ? I realise that you're doing a different degree, but still probably you can say something or tagg someone you know to answer
! Thank you in advance !
