Re: Economics at Hull
You dont really need maths A-level to do Economics, I know a lot of my friends who didnt do maths at A-levels and went on to do Economics. I did it only up to AS-Level and found it does help a bit. In all honesty i found 2nd year harder then my third.
BA is more theory based, and BSc is math and theory -
Re: Economics at Hull
Hull is highly mathematical as it is a BSc, not BA. Covers alot of the main economic modules that you would expect, well after first year.
First years is a common first year to get everyone up to speed and on the same level. 2nd year you will be doin micr o, macro, econ analysis and further econ analysis, which are highly mathematical and are very tough. I've had epople come up to me saying don't do economics its so hard, lots of people have said avoid as much as you can.
I mean in the requirments it may not say that maths is required, but i definitly believe you should do A-level maths to have a good background if you were wanting to do full on BSc Economics. Additionally, my friends told me most people would be working seriously hard day in day out and they'd get just about manage to get 2.1s.
However, i think it depends on the individual themselves, if your interested, good at maths and willing to study you'll succeed, simple as that. Have a look and make your judgement.

I did Business Economics and I found the Economics modules in my second year very hard.
My honest advise, don't bother with Economics unless you've done Maths at A-Level and are dedicated.
