Re: Leeds Accommodation
Hi guys,
I finally got my accomodation contract through a couple of days ago and will be living in Henry Price as of September - Staircase E (E2.04).
Please contact me/quote me if you will be in the same flat or close by as I'd love to get to know some of you before the big move! -
Re: Leeds Accommodationcheck your junk folder, they don't seem to make this clear enough, but it can end up in there. this is what happened to me last year.(Original post by DavidCade)
I haven't been contacted yet either. I read somewhere that they send out letters after the 31st of August but I'm not sure. -
Re: Gap year accomodation?I know someone who went to Leeds after a gap year and everyone else in her flat had taken a gap year (she was in Lupton.)(Original post by livelove)
Hi,
I'm currently taking a gap year and was wondering if anyone knows if people who've been on a gap year get grouped together accomodation wise, or if everyone's mixed together? Am worried about being older than everyone else as I was born fairly early in my year! -
Re: Gap year accomodation?
Alright mate,
I'm a 1st year Leeds student living in Bodington. I took a gap year last year and took up my deferred place in September; was concerned about being the only 'Gap Yah' as well.
A few points really...
1) Loads of people have been on gap years, you wouldn't actually believe it. I swear there's one of us on every floor.
2) Nobody really cares. A good proportion of freshers will be 18, but a sizeable amount will be 19, or just turned 19... some people are in their 20s, a few are old age pensioners! The 'class of 09/10/11' distinction wears off too... whilst I'm a school year older than most of my mates, I have a March birthday, so half of them are 'my age' now.
3) As far as I've experienced, gap year allocation is fairy even and random... but there are concentrated pockets of older students. Speaking in terms of Bodington, there's a few flats in McClurkin which are full of Gap Yahs... Barbier has a load of Australians for some reason... I think the accomodation people make the effort

Re: Gap year accomodation? You definitely won't(Original post by livelove)
Ha oh good
I'm not too worried about it, just didn't want to feel like a massive granny haha!
I'd say at least half the people I've met aren't 18, just left school type people!
