Definitely not first come first served - when you apply you're asked to rank things in order of the most important factors to you. ie: distance from campus, ensuite etc and you also choose one hall as a first choice. Therefore the accom people try and fit everyone's first choices but if that's not possible, they try and place you based on your other preferences.

Yh the sharing bathroom kinda put me off as well, but realized that I've been sharing between 5 my whole life :P
