So torn between Charles Morris/Henry Price and then Central Village is a bit of a curve ball...Like the idea of catered though tbh but are the rooms in charles morris reeeeally that small and tiny? I live in the south west so couldn't make it to the open day to have a look! What are people thinking?

I didn't go to the viewing day, but I've been to Leeds twice before and both times we were shown round Charles Morris. Although I really like Charles Morris and the facilities and everything is really nice, the room is quite narrow with not that much floor space. on the plus side there are like 6 different cupboards for storage and its on campus.
I also asked the accommodation office about more on Central Village and they said that the rooms are the same size as Chales Morris
But I think I'm warming up more to the idea of cooking myself so for me Central village is winning. Don't know much about Henry Price though...

    Re: leodis or oxley?
    (Original post by MoonFlower)
I spoke to a student on the accom open day at Oxley and she said she gets the bus in at 8.30 to get on campus for 9 o'clock lectures, so i didnt think that was too bad! I think alot of Med students go in the Tannery... I know that they put all healthcare students together in either Oxley, Lupton or Tannery if thats any help.
I'm leaning towards leodis for today and my parents said they would prefer me to go there. I know it's my decision and they aren't trying to influence me but at the same time I don't want them too worry too much!

I'm not actually doing medicine- I didn't get in :/ I'm hopefully going to study medical sciences but it's in the same building as the medical school.

    Thanks for your reply

Got an email off Accom today, and was delighted to read I have my old room back at Henry Price!! Lucky me!

Thank you ever so much for all the accommodation staff (I know you read on here) for their work and mostly, for giving me my old room back xD

(Worth noting I'm a returning student so normal applicants don't expect a similar reply soon!)

    Muchas gracias.

Is anyone else having trouble applying for accommodation? The form just takes me to a summary and doesn't let me actually do anything :/

I'm sure you will be fine for your exams! what grades do you need to get in? over the summer i may just hop on the train to leeds and have a look a central village! should confirm how awsome it is
My offer is AAB, what about you? that's not a bad idea, i'm only half an hour away on the train so i might persuade my friends to go shopping with me then take a casual detour to central village :^_^:

I was in the same position, but I think they're largely the same in terms of people/ socials/ atmosphere. In the end, I came to the conclusion that having my own bathroom (with a lock!) was more important to me than living on campus. Plus I was told that you'll have to live pretty far away from campus after first year, so you might as well get used to distance

I applied for JBP if ya can't tell, heh.

Thank you! Yeah they seem so similar just location (although they're close) and the whole bathroom thing. You have a good time in JBP?

    Re: Leeds Accommodation 2012/13 Thread
    Hey guys,
I am considering applying for an exchange to Leeds uni for next year, I'm from Auckland, NZ. I am a business student (currently) studying economics, finance and political studies and I'm just trying to suss out what accommodation is the best for me. I don't mind sharing a bathroom, I'm not adverse to a little walk (even up/down a hill-here in Auckland the city is built around extinct volcanoes) I'm not too fussed with whether it's catered or self catered, so I guess the main question is if I get self catered how much would I spend on food a week? Or how good is the food from a catered hall? (mum is a fantastic cook-she's from Bradford too) I was looking at Ellerslie or Henry Price as my first choices, any recommendations on what I should do? I am not a major party animal but I deffo want a good social place to live, and I'm not too fussy on how big the room is...
Any help would be really appreciated, THANK YOU xx

Finally submitted my application after dithering over it for so long. In the end came to the conclusion that having my own bathroom wasn't as good as having a double bed in a fairly cheap room so I went for North Hill Court! The only bad thing is that the kitchens look tiny but I'm not fussed
