URGENT Limitations of experiments

What could the limitations be of measuring rate of anaerobic respiration using different substrates: A respirometer, syringe to measure amount of yeast and put into test tube. methy blue also used.

Any help much appreciated

For a start, doesn't a respirometer measure aerobic respiration not anaerobic?

Apart from that: respirometer accuracy and precision. the concentration of yest in the syringe could vary each time, the syringe won't give you an exact measument of bacteria.

I was thinking the same thing :s-smilie:

But we used a thin layer of paraffin oil on top of the yeast to prevent air getting to it (assuming oxygen) and added methylene blue to it only attached the respirometer after the dye had disappeared (No oxygen left). Also quickly after attached the respirometer we added a clip onto the rubber tube. A respirometer is the u shaped tubing with red liquid in isnt it?
