Transfer admissions to US unis/colleges?

I've applied to several UK unis for Fall 2010, like imperial, ucl, manchester etc.
If Imperial and UCL rejected my offer, I would be studying at manchester but I would aim for transferring to US unis in my second year, like UCLA, UCBerkeley, Cornell etc.

Will US unis generally accept transfer applicants from UK? Any previous experiences if anyone would like to share about transfer admissions?

Many will accept transfers from international universities, I'm not sure about all. You will have to go to the school's admission site to see for your self.

You should know that transfer admissions is very difficult and has a much lower rate of acceptance than freshman admissions and I wouldn't find it hard to imagine even more so for international applicants. If you have your heart set on leaving Manchester if you have to go there (and don't go in expecting the worst), you might want to hedge your bets and apply to many, including some with higher acceptances.
