I was thinking about doing this yesterday. I think I am going to start with the questions worth the highest marks.
i wouldn't reckoning you doing that, because if you get stuck or cant find any more ideas then it can de-motivate you for the rest of the paper ( 2hours)....start with the easiest, or section B because we are prepared for it better then section A.
because its 2 hours and 15 mins.....leave about 45 minutes on the 18 marker....because communication marks will be awarded so take your time in answering those questions.

If anyone is still reading this, I would do it in order, A then B.
You have 2 1/4 hours, and most of us finish way before it.
I've done this exam 3 times, so 4th time lucky  :woo:
Data Information and Knowledge will deffo come up this time round, I'd revise CAD/CAM as well as it's likely. Schools will probably come up as well.

hey ..im just worried because i just saw the marking scheme for section B on jan 2010 paper.and for the validation technique, i have used where they have to type in a whole number which is greater or equal to 16...what type of method is that called, because i dont know..
and also i have used text length as my other method, but in the mark scheme in jan 2010 it says only award 2/3 marks for this method because its not named....
but where does it say that?
    so what should i do?>

    Minimum Maximum, Validation rule.
The one you're talking about is Validation error trapping, so if its not that particular number then it will pop up and ask you to make it so that it is the same.

so in the paper, if i say ' i used minimum maximum value' validation method to ensure that cell n21 has to be a whole number which is greater of equal to 16'.
    is that ok..
and what about text lenght..if it says 2 method. say i say that one?

You can do, but if you have another formula then it's better to state a different one obviously. Good luck, it's not too bad.

    now im wondering.about secition B..part d.. (last q's)
because it said. '2 other different advanced process, and cant include any used from parts a-b-c-..previuosly'

so i used vlookup & sum...

    is that ok..
because i couldnt find any other, as they were almost are done in parts abc..
but in jan or june 09 mark scheme it there was a similar q's...and it said
    ''condone: average/sum/max/min''
so wont i get sum one...??

because theres not any other good choice??

i was also wondering about section B for the last question i put v lookup and validation error trapping (the one where message comes up onsceee) and why did they put the same question in a summer 09 about query e.c.t that too similar and i also did poo on CAD the one bout strive/strain )sumthing like that). i fort it was on ok exam just section B was poo. i mention dat, single if, macro button, v lookup, 3d cell referancing, error message. does anyone know roughyl what 40 is a think it was a C or B on the last one but it will prob be less this time due to the exam being more straightforward for most people so porb a D/C.

SUM probably isn't an advanced option im afraid, it was a decent exam for me and hopefully my highest :P

I used VLOOKUP and Minimum/Maximum/Validation Trapping so should be alright. Section B was alot easier than last few papers.
Well done guys and good luck!

so i should get 2/4 for part d??...for vlookup.
but the other method..i dont think minimum/maximum method is a process because thats an entirely different q's, which didnt come up this time.

    i messed the first q's badly...probaly 1/6

what did people answer for the question about wire drawing? (the bit to do with CAD)

also are they allowed to ask us about that because I couldnt find anything about it in the WJEC textbook?

Yeah 2/4 marks likely if you justified why you used VLOOKUP.

They can do what they want if im honest, I put it down as the structure of the building, walls and architecture etc.

Teacher confirmed it was along those lines although as you said it wasn't in the book, maybe it was in the official spec though

For the last question on section B I used sort function and V lookup, are these two both advanced features ?
Also in the coursework i got 73/80 which is an A right?
So if i was to score a high C in the exam would this overall be pushed up to an A by my coursework grade?
    Post back, thanks !
