I think he means that mods won't complain because you'll de-mod them and that normal members won't speak in case you 'steal' their rep.
 - everybody knows the mods can't be removed for any reason aside from voluntarily stepping down :daydreaming: /irony. As for reppage, I've never been left rep of any description by any of the admins. I'm perfectly happy with that as impartiality is key :fuhrer:.

I'll throw my Fedora into the ring and say that I'm not experiencing any actual slowdown, but I am seeing the occasional bit of downtime as others have described. It's usually very short term.

what are you going to do about it?

speaking for the majority that can't because they are either scared of their job title or rep bars
Why don't you tell RK exactly which lines of code are causing the issues, or the exact method call in which process on which server is causing the issue, and then he can sort it?

Or do you not know that, as he doesn't (yet), but the admins are trying to find out before it can be fixed? Or maybe we should just delete the entire forum, start again with a new one, and then the bug will be gone?

    Edit: Truth hurt mangoh?

I'm getting periods of slowness when navigating through forums only, and saving new settings.

Lots and lots of slow loading times for the last 2-3 hours. My usual benchmark of member list loading time is up to 27~ seconds average from an average of 4-5~ seconds when the site appears to be loading fine.

Ditto to the above. Thought it might be me/my browser but this is definitely the case (I've noticed it for a couple of days actually, probably since when Loz mentioned it).

The A level forum is hell to load atm. I know theres almost 1000 people viewing it around now and it's not used to that but it's annoying when you need to act quickly :sigh:

    Imagine tomorrow.
Strangely looking forward to it, regardless of how stressful it will be :p:
I'm predicting 2k people across UCAS & A level forums alone at any one time. I hope the servers can handle it

Seems fine to me at the moment in there.

Can all of you please keep updating this thread at the moments you experience the slowness/problems fully describing what you were doing and what you see.

We've certainly been preparing for travel levels today and tomorrow and have even brought in extra servers amongst other things to cope with the expected number of visitors. Let's hope it all mostly runs smoothly

    Re: The site being slow?
It seems that the problems you were having earlier were possibly caused by one of the servers getting too many requests. The distribution of requests across all our servers has been adjusted to compensate and all should be OK again

Guys, do you think the slowness could have been related to the some slowness we've seen on other days around about midnight? Let me know if you experience it again through today.

Possibly, though last night at midnight there was a big increase in the number of people on the site around 5 to midnight - something to do with Clearing/Track? The site is a little slower today but nothing that I'm agonising over :p:

    Re: The site being slow?
The last few nights have seen brief hiccups at midnight with the site going offline for a few minutes. It doesn't seem to be anything major, but this problem seemed to have been fixed until very recently.
