Artificial light shining in bedroom..

I just wondered do you have artificial light (streetlights/neighbours lights) shining in your bedroom all night? Or just darkness/moonlight?
used to be a huge problem for 15 years but yesterday my black curtains arrived and i've put them up - it's amazing! it blocks out the ambient light and has plunged my room into perpetual darkness
I love good curtains
