Hey everyone, I have a very small amount of pure Uranium, in a sealed glass ampoule. I was wondering if it's radioactive enough to cause me any harm if I kept it on my shelf. Or should I just get rid of it? Thanks.
EDIT: Oh btw, it is real because I've tested it on a Geiger counter.

If you can detect radioactivity through the glass with a Geiger counter you don't want to have it around.
There's an article somewhere on Wikipedia on how much radiation is enough to cause noticeable effects. Use your Geiger counter to measure the radiation and compare.
