If your parents/guardians earn less than £30,000 and you are doing at least 12 hours (I think) of education a week, then why wouldn't you?

Yes. It's entirely dependent on household income and has nothing to do with the type of school/college you go to.

    Ema
    Heyy
I start college tomorrow....and i'm wondering when i will start receiving my EMA?
I handed all the forms and everything in last week.
But my mate said she had to wait like 3 weeks before she received hers.

So just wondering...will i get it this week orr like in a month or something?

    lol thanks =]

You should get a letter back confirming your application was correct with a reference you are then given to forms one for you and your tutor to sign, the college keep one and you keep one, they put your reference number through their system and then you receive the money the Tuesday after the week you just had.

    Re: Ema question
Yeh if you apply late you can still get it...and becasue you applied late 3 of your payments get back dated but if it the application takes longer than 3 weeks you will get only the 3. if that makes sense.

That's not true, the previous 3 or 4 get backdated, but no more.

Shouldn't have done. Either way, it'll probably be an exception in your case.

I think it took about 2 or 3 weeks last year to start receiving my payments.
