So.. what's the difference? If you need 80% UMS than you need an average of 80% in the exam? or?.. huh? :confused:

exam is out of 80...there are 100 UMS points, you need 80 UMS points, this corresponds to aroung 65-70% in the actual exam out of 80....

so...A= around 50-55 out of 80

yep, sounds easy, but when 1 mark is greater than 1%.....maybe not so

Exam is out of 60 not 80 mate!

You need around 40/60 with a few marks either way depending on how hard the exam is from looking at previous years.

Thanks for everyone who has helped with this thread

Btw guys sitting this paper...

Here is a link to some key materials; specimen with mark scheme and the very first paper with mark scheme.

http://web.aqa.org.uk/qual/gce/science/biology_materials.php?id=03&prev=03

Do have a look at both of these for practice before you sit the exam.

Good luck. :smile:

Thank you :biggrin: There's a chance of the paper being 80% in order to get an A? TELL ME MORE!
