it would be a right pain to check tbh, you'd have to make it public + i don't think it should be. nice in theory, but not very practical.(Original post by serendipity)
then make it so that only people with accounts before today can vote...or make it a public poll, then the mods can check any dodgy IP addresses.

Exactly, look lighten up, its just a forum. SO what if some 'newbies' vote.(Original post by serendipity)
that's extremely condescending.
The idea of only the 1st page of members voting because they have more "experience of the forum" is flawed - Sire is on the first page and much as i like the guy, he has only been here a week. -
Still, he's probably been around for more hours in total than most other members combined!(Original post by serendipity)

If we chose that method than your idea sounds good. Try telling Whitey its not certain he can vote tho.(Original post by loftx)
I know but if we are using PMs to collate the votes, if everyone votes it will be too much work for the counters. I just thought it might be fairer than the first 50 people. -
thats not the plan, the idea is that the 1st page is a suitable sample of the forums opinions for nominations(Original post by serendipity)

then everyone over 300 (most active people) will be able to vote -
We could have a blunket style immagration test to decide who is allowed to vote. All you need to do is answer correctly some simple questions like these.
1. Who is the oldest current moderator?
2. What did mr white suggest about ickle_katy?
3. How do you check your rep?
4. How do you add an attachment?
5. Can moderators ban IP addresses?
6. What is the title of the longest thread ever?
7. Who was earlier Bloodhound or Maskall?
8. What is the current level of posts for a overlord in training?
9. Who is has the current highest posts per day?
10. How do you display the second page of the memberlist? -
i agree with your system ollie. lets do it! we just need to decide what awards we're going to have now...(Original post by Ollie)
