engineering degree in south enagland

Hi there. I am doing my last year at college. I am from Southand and I would not want to move out up North (too cold for me :p: )
I wouldnt mind studying somewhere down south (doesnt matter if west, east or London)

Currently I am studying:

BTEC Engineering (predicted MERIT)
AS Maths (predicted C or above)
BTEC Science(predicted MERIT)
I have also passed BTEC Travel and Tourism last year (achived MERIT,MERIT)

By July I will have at least 300 UCAS points, I am aiming for 360 points.

What would be good places for me to study:
a) mechanical engineering
b) civil engineering
c) nuclear engineering
