    well DVD writers are the in-thing!! If u got it on ur lappy it'll be great...if u dont, i dont think u will have probs. Prob in the next 3-4 yrs u might have everyone writing their stuff on DVD's so u might feel left out. And CD's will slowly go out of trend...just like cassettes have gone! So...it actually depends. if u got a DVD player that shud do for uni atleast!
    my desktop dint have CD writer and it felt sad...
    anyways, i've got some good news...My budget's back to 70k(my broinlaw insisting that i buy good one(read expensive one) and he's cashing in 45k!!! ).
    I'm goin thru the apple website now...

    the aspire series looks pretty decent for uni use! However ....my vote is for the apple ibook ! its worth the extra dough man !!! I've bought a DELL but my next one is definetely the powerbook !

    HI raghav well im thinking of buying an ibook if not then definately Dell as u said there will be offers like the current one... But most probably i will go for ibook...
    after reading all the comments dont wanna miss it
