    Cambridge baseball/softball
So, I'm moving to Cambridge and I want to continue playing baseball and softball, which I played in Nottingham for the past 4 years.

Therefore.. I was wondering if there was anyone at Cambridge who has played either sport before, or would like to have a go? If we get enough we could form a team and win the cup. It'll be just like the bad news bears. but with more beer. and less 10 year olds.

Also - can anyone recommend a decent non-student cricket club based somewhere around the city centre?

    Cheers

Thanks! the Monarchs have actually been defunct for about 5 years now. The previous university team - the Cubs - also folded back in 2001. I've got funding from BSUK to start up another team, should there be interest - which I'm sure there must be, seeing as we signed up 100+ people every year at Nottingham, and Cambridge is just as big and just as international.

I'll check out the cricket clubs. Any particular recommendations?

NCI is a very friendly cricket club which a number of students play for. They have a wide range of teams, from a fairly serious 1st XI to a social 6th XI - depending on numbers. I think Visesh on here may turn out for them sometimes.

But do they hook you up with some gears to borrow? (I think I can manage my own box though)

Yes, I'm sure they can lend you kit for training sessions etc. Your JCR/MCR might have kit as well.
